A Business Computing degree is designed with the goal of advancing your career in mind. As well as studying the breadth of Information Technology (electronic office programming, databases, and multimedia) you will also learn about fundamental areas of Business such as management, marketing, accounting economics, finance and accounting. This will give you the knowledge and skills required to create and analyze computer systems that meet a business user’s needs.
You will learn about the fundamental aspects of computing, such as data analysis and software More Help development. Additionally, you will gain knowledge of business areas such as management, consulting, and IT operations. You will also acquire the broad skills employers look for in IT professionals, such as leadership, teamwork and management.
We have strong connections with industry, and you will be working on live briefs, and get the chance to do an internship. You will be taught about how modern businesses use IT, and you will have the chance to develop your own solutions to real-world issues.
Many graduates of this course move into jobs that require a mix of IT and business skills, like a software developer or project manager. Others choose to work for companies like banks and insurance companies or even start their own business using their IT and vocational skills. Some choose to work on the gray area between business and IT in roles like IT security officer or consultant.
